CPS Family
It has been another exciting week for CPS. Many of our athletes are entering the home stretch of the winter season, and our fine arts are gearing up for their spring productions and concerts. February is also national Career and Technical Education month. I want to give a shout-out to our FBLA, FCCLA, and FFA student organizations. These student organizations promote strong leadership, community involvement, and personal development. Mrs. Bright, Mrs. Coe, and Mr. Carriker do an outstanding job leading these organizations for our students.
Safety is always at the top of mind for us. In our last Friday update, I shared our LOCKDOWN protocol with you. This week our protocol is EVACUATE. In an evacuation situation, our students and staff will relocate to an alternative sight. Our primary evacuation site is Doane University. We are thankful for our partnership with Doane, as they are an integral partner in our safety operations. When our students and staff evacuate to an alternative site, we will reunify you and your student(s) at the evacuation site.
Finally, our practice field project is underway north of the high school. These practice fields will provide our student-athletes with the proper space. By adding 2.5 practice fields, we can continue long-range planning for additions to our current football field and track located by the Intermediate School. Starting with the practice fields ensures our plan is financially responsible and will enable us to complete the project in multiple phases if necessary.
As always, if you have questions, comments, or concerns, Let's Talk.
