Thank You and The Cardinal Welcome Center

The Cardinal Welcome Center (CWC) officially opened in November of 2022.  Since then, The Cardinal Welcome Center has become a pillar in our downtown community.  We believe the CWC is the one-stop shop for all things Crete Public Schools.  We are fortunate to have a fantastic staff committed to doing whatever they can to serve our students and families.  The CWC has also hosted numerous community groups and organizations.  Today, I shared with all CPS staff that we've registered 479 students at the CWC since its opening.  Having the CWC as a district and community resource has allowed us to better connect with our families, provide timely services, and ensure we meet families' needs sooner and more efficiently.  Thank you for your continued support of CPS and the CWC.

The Board of Education will meet on Monday, September 12, for its regular meeting.  At that meeting, the Board will conduct a tax hearing and review and approve the budget for the 2022-2023 school year.  School finance can be tricky.  However, what I believe is meaningful to our community is the tax rate.  For the 2022-2023 school year, CPS is asking for a 0% change in the tax rate, and we are decreasing our overall operating budget by 2%.  We strive daily to be good stewards of your tax dollars.  We believe this year's budget is financially responsible and will allow us to continue offering an outstanding education to our students and families.

As always, if you have questions, comments, concerns, or compliments, reach out, and Let's Talk.
