Children need healthy meals to learn. Crete Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day.

As of July 15, 2021 all CPS students are eligible for free lunches through the federal child nutrition waiver. Should this waiver be lifted the following will apply:

The Intermediate School and Middle School have qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This program will allow all students at those schools to have a free breakfast and a free lunch everyday. For additional information, please visit https://www.education.ne.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/CEP-Fact-Sheet.pdf

Your children at the elementary or high school may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.

All meals served must meet meal patterns established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  However, if a child has been determined by a doctor to be disabled or has a food allergy and the disability/allergy would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, Crete Public Schools will make any substitutions prescribed by the doctor.  If a substitution is needed, there will be no extra charge for the meal.  If you believe your child needs substitutions because of disability/allergy, please contact the school nurse.
