We recently completed our 1st semester of the 23-24 school year at Crete High. There were so many successes that need to be celebrated. Crete High School is an up and coming school that is having success academically and in many activities.
Activities
- The volleyball team made it to the round of 16 in class B.
- We had a state girls Cross Country qualifier.
- The football team made it to the state playoffs.
- The boys Tennis team finished in the top 5 at state. We also had a state champion and a fourth place finisher.
- One-Act had many participants and received several accolades at their competitions.
Academics
- We implemented the prepscholar ACT practice platform
- At the end of the semester we averaged 3% fewer students with multiple F's than the 22-23 school year.
- At the end of the semester we averaged 2% more A's than the 22-23 school year.
- 76 students took advantage of the SENCAP college credit program
- Our ACT scores improved in English by 1.2 points, Math by .2 points, Reading by .6 points, Science by 1.2 points and the overall composite by .8 points from the 2022 school year.
Behaviors:
- We had 175 fewer behavior incidents first semester than we did in the 22-23 school year.
- We had 181 fewer cell phone issues first semester than we did in the 22-23 school year.
- There was a small decrease in suspensions from last school year.
We are excited about the opportunities that we have to build on all of the successes from 1st semester. Let's make the start of 2024 a great one!
