Crete Lumber & Farm Supply awarded the CPS Foundation four - $500 scholarships. Terry, Jeff and Ron Dittmer in their business, Crete Lumber & Farm Supply The Dittmers are lifelong residents of Crete. Ron graduated from high school in 1969, Terry in 1971 and Jeff in 1991. Both Terry and Ron graduated from a two year program, Ron from Milford and Terry from Fairbury Jr. College. Today three generations of Dittmers work at the business. In business since 1975, the Dittmers have invested in Crete for years and now are investing in our young people with these scholarships. Concerned about the shortage of laborers, the Dittmers have chosen for the scholarships to go to students attending SCC in the agricultural or construction industry. Second year intermediate P.E. teacher Claire Holling received a teacher grant this year and it is a big hit! Cardio drumming provides students with a fun new way to exercise. "This grant has helped me enhance students' learning experiences by creating ways to give students the tools they need to build healthy habits that last a lifetime," said Holling. Every year the CPS Foundation awards teacher grants to enhance the classroom experience. Holling was one of 14 teachers throughout the district to receive a teacher grant. The Foundation gave out more than $34,000 in teacher grant money.

Introducing the 2024 Lloyd and Trudy Reeves Hall of Fame inductees: Dr. Michael Rapp-Class of 1972, Marcus Smith-Class of 2008, and Jane Renner Hood-Class of 1972. Accepting for Jane Renner Hood was Connie Hood The inductees were honored at half time of the boy's varsity basketball game with a reception following in the Commander's Room at the VFW. Congratulations to all of the inductees!
