This week our Career and Counseling Center conducted an Apply2College and Mini College Fair Event at CHS!
The Apply2College Campaign is promoted by Education Quest and is part of the American College Application Campaign initiative sponsored by the American Council on Education. High School seniors from every state are now participating in the annual program.
At the CHS Apply2College event we had representatives from 25 colleges and 8 military branches to assist with this process! Completing a college application can be overwhelming for many students β especially those from families unfamiliar with the process. This event helps reduce college application barriers many students face and can help increase the number of seniors who go on to pursue higher education.
After the Seniors spent over an hour at the event, we then had our Juniors and Sophomore students attend the mini -college fair. After completing the process students were entered into a drawing for prizes that were funded by the College Access Grant. This grant was awarded to the Career and Counseling Center to help promote college going education and activities at CHS.
We had 124 of our seniors apply to at least one college or visit with a military representative today! These 124 seniors had a total of 227applications over 50 visits with military reps!
