Wackel's Machine Shop and Andy Arkfeld have generously donated $10,000 to Crete Cardinal Academies to support the purchase of new equipment for our welding and Career & Technical Education (CTE) classrooms. This investment will provide students with hands-on access to industry-standard tools, helping them develop real-world skills and prepare for high-demand careers. Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and we want to give a huge shout-out to the two people who work every day to keep our halls safe and our smiles brightβLT Jonas and SRO Zach!
Being a School Resource Officer is about so much more than safety. Itβs about being a mentor, a listener, and a friendly face in the hallway. Whether they are directing traffic, checking in on a student, or just cracking a joke at lunch, Jonas and Zach make Crete High a better place to be.
Thank you both for your dedication, your patience, and your service to our students and staff. We appreciate you!
Drop a comment below to say thanks or share a favorite memory with Officer Jonas or Officer Zach! π

Students in Mrs. Shaw's Health Science's Academy Human Anatomy class are using the Anatomage Tablets to dive deeply into the structure and function of the nervous system in an interactive, hands-on way. With full-scale 3D models, they can isolate individual nerves, trace neural pathways, and rotate structures to see how different parts of the system connect and communicate. Instead of relying solely on diagrams, theyβre able to virtually βdissectβ the brain and spinal cord, explore cross-sections, and compare healthy and injured tissue to better understand real-world applications. This level of exploration helps students visualize complex concepts, strengthen their scientific vocabulary, and build a clearer understanding of how the nervous system controls the body. The technology not only boosts engagement but also supports deeper learning that prepares students for advanced science courses and future health-related careers.
