Crete Intermediate School Families:
On Monday, April 28th, we will be practicing an evacuation drill. The entire intermediate school will participate in the drill.
An evacuation is used when there is a situation inside the school, such as a fire, gas leak, etc. An evacuation means that all staff and students will be off campus (Doane College Field House) for an extended period of time. Our staff has spoken to the students about this drill. In the actual event of needing to evacuate, additional details would be provided regarding reunification.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude by 10:30 a.m.
If you have any questions regarding this drill, please contact your building principal.
Ms. Cole

Today, your child brought home a paper with activities they can complete for remote learning day on April 21st. A digital copy is also linked below. We would like them to work on these activities for two hours anytime over the weekend. When they finish an activity, please write your initials in the box and return the paper to school on Tuesday, April 22nd. If you have questions, the teachers will be available via email on Monday from 8:00-4:00. Thank you for your continued support of Crete Intermediate School.

We had some special guests from Doane this morning! They helped us celebrate Music in our Schools Month.

Please join Crete TeamMates with TeamMates Mentoring CEO DeMoine Adams in celebration of the impact this program has made in our community. Volunteers have mentored Crete students in this school-based program for over 25 years and our local Teammates chapter looks forward to reaching new mentors and fostering community partnerships. Hear from local participants in an informal program at 5pm.

Tomorrow, March 20th will be a regular school day although there will be no district-provided bus or van transportation before or after school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for a safe return to school. Go Cards!

New date for Crete Public Schools' Family Learning Night: April 2, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Middle School. Participate in hands-on activities as a family with topics for every age group including managing emotions, learning math facts, creating screen free routines, and exploring extra curricular activities. All families receive a gift for continuing the learning in their homes.

Is Crete a safe place for walking and driving? Join us for cafe and a conversation on public safety.

Due to the blizzard and high wind warnings issued by the National Weather Service, there will be no school or activities on Wednesday, March 19th. Heavy snow and whiteout conditions are expected. Please be safe, stay warm, and Go Cards!

Reminder: No school for all students tomorrow, Monday, March 17, 2025. Monday is a staff professional development day. We will see all students on Tuesday. Go Cards!

As of March 14, 2025, we have used four full snow/weather days. Because students receive three βfreeβ snow days, they now need to make up one instructional day. Please note that if the district must close school on additional dates, our plan may need to be revised.
After exploring multiple options to ensure the best student learning experience, we are converting a scheduled βno-schoolβ day into an instructional day rather than adding all missed days at the end of May. This approach will help us maintain meaningful instructional time and engagement. Our seniorsβ last day will also be adjusted to meet the instructional hours set by the Nebraska Department of Education.
Student Make-Up Day-
April 22, 2025βPreviously a no-school day, it is now a regular school day for all students and staff.
Thank you for your understanding as we strive to provide our students with the highest-quality education. Please contact your studentβs building principal or the district office if you have any questions.

Due to the inclement weather, there will be no school for all students on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Wind gusts of 50+ miles per hour will continue through tomorrow morning, creating unsafe conditions for our buses and our young drivers. Please be safe, stay warm, and Go Cards!

Because of a change in schedule with the boy's district basketball final game, the Family Learning Night scheduled for Wednesday, March 5 has been postponed. We encourage you to cheer on the Cards at the high school that night. A new date and time for the Family Learning NIght will be shared soon.

Due to a High Wind Warning for Crete, Tue, 3/4/25, is an early dismissal day. Crete Elementary dismisses at 1:15 PM; Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools at 1:30 PM: No PM Preschool, afterschool activities, or CCLC. Check the website for more details.

Reminder: There is no school for all students on Monday, March 3. All students return on Tuesday, March 4. We hope you enjoy the day! Be well, and Go Cards!
