This is a reminder there is no school tomorrow, Thursday, May 9. We wish our Boys Varsity Soccer Team the best of luck as they compete in the state tournament tomorrow at noon. We will see all our students back at school on Friday, May 10. Go Cards!


Our Boys' Varsity Soccer team is headed to Omaha for the 2024 Boys State Soccer Tournament! This season, the team has showcased tremendous dedication and teamwork. We wish them the best of luck as they compete.

Pioneer Day is successfully underway!






This afternoon, we experienced a tornado warning, leading us to activate our emergency procedures. Students and staff followed safety protocols, by sheltering in interior rooms. Following the all-clear, students resumed their regular class activities. If you have any questions, please reach out to the school.


The deadline for registering K-11 grade students for Cardinal Camps and summer transportation is Monday, April 29, 2024, at noon. No camp or transportation registrations will be accepted after this date and time.



Federal Programs Non Public Consultation Notice
On Wednesday May 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm, a meeting regarding federal programs including special education services for nonpublic schools will be conducted by Crete Public Schools. The purpose of the meeting will be to provide an opportunity for parents who have parentally-placed their child in an approved and/or accredited nonpublic school or exempt home school and representatives of nonpublic schools to participate in the development of a plan regarding federal and special education programming in the nonpublic schools for the 2024-2025 school year. Parents of children attending a nonpublic school or exempt home school within the boundaries of Crete Public Schools are urged to attend. The meeting will be held at St. James Elementary. Children's Hospital, through Project Adam, has designated all of Crete Public Schools as Heart Safe! On Monday, April 8, all schools participated in training and drills to ensure we are prepared to respond to a cardiac event. A huge thanks to our Nursing Staff, Response Teams, Children's Hospital, and Crete Fire and Rescue for helping us achieve this awesome designation. Go Cards!

Mrs. Krysl's students were asked to investigate how many milliliters equals 1 cubic centimeter. There was a lot of thinking going on!

Fourth grade students are learning to play ukuleles. These skills will help students when they go to middle school and learn how to play an instrument. The students will show off their skills at their music program in May. What a great experience for our students!
