This is a reminder that Monday, April 21st is our Remote Learning Day. Activity packets were sent home today with all students in Preschool through 2nd Grade.

We would love to see as many students as possible return their completed Activity Boards on Tuesday! Students who return their boards will receive a special prize! 🎉

🌳✨ Forest Friday is a special experience for our preschoolers! Each semester, our classes visit the outdoor classroom on the Doane University campus for nature-infused activities that encourage exploration, curiosity, and connection with the world around them.
With the support of Doane professors and students, our little learners engage in hands-on experiences—building with sticks, observing bugs, and using their senses to explore the environment. It’s always a memorable adventure! 🍂🔍🪵
A big thank you to our amazing partners at Doane University for facilitating Forest Friday and continuing to collaborate with Crete Preschool. We’re so grateful for this partnership! ❤️

🎉 Week of the Young Child at Crete Preschool was a blast! Our preschoolers had an amazing week celebrating learning, creativity, and connection. Here's a peek at the fun:
🎶 Music Monday – Students sang their favorite songs and recorded videos to share the joy of music!
🍎 Tasty Tuesday – We explored healthy eating with a colorful "Eat the Rainbow" activity. Yum!
🤝 Work Together Wednesday – Classes created a beautiful hallway mural inspired by artist Alma Thomas, showing how teamwork makes the dream work.
🎨 Artsy Thursday – Our young artists continued their mural masterpiece with rainbow colors and lots of creativity.
🌟 Celebrate & Share Friday – We wrapped up the week by admiring our work and celebrating all we've learned together.

We are excited to share that Mrs. Anne Holling was awarded the "Friend of Autism" Award at the Nebraska Autism Conference last week! 🎉 As an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for over 30 years, this recognition is so well deserved! Anne continues to advocate for her students, their families, and what is best for all preschool students. Thank you, Miss Anne for your dedication!

😴The theme is "Pajama Party." Students are to wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal to use as a prop in the show.

Please join Crete TeamMates with TeamMates Mentoring CEO DeMoine Adams in celebration of the impact this program has made in our community. Volunteers have mentored Crete students in this school-based program for over 25 years and our local Teammates chapter looks forward to reaching new mentors and fostering community partnerships. Hear from local participants in an informal program at 5pm.
Tomorrow, March 20th will be a regular school day although there will be no district-provided bus or van transportation before or after school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for a safe return to school. Go Cards!
New date for Crete Public Schools' Family Learning Night: April 2, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Middle School. Participate in hands-on activities as a family with topics for every age group including managing emotions, learning math facts, creating screen free routines, and exploring extra curricular activities. All families receive a gift for continuing the learning in their homes.
Is Crete a safe place for walking and driving? Join us for cafe and a conversation on public safety.
Due to the blizzard and high wind warnings issued by the National Weather Service, there will be no school or activities on Wednesday, March 19th. Heavy snow and whiteout conditions are expected. Please be safe, stay warm, and Go Cards!
