Please join Crete TeamMates with TeamMates Mentoring CEO DeMoine Adams in celebration of the impact this program has made in our community. Volunteers have mentored Crete students in this school-based program for over 25 years and our local Teammates chapter looks forward to reaching new mentors and fostering community partnerships. Hear from local participants in an informal program at 5pm.

New date for Crete Public Schools' Family Learning Night: April 2, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Middle School. Participate in hands-on activities as a family with topics for every age group including managing emotions, learning math facts, creating screen free routines, and exploring extra curricular activities. All families receive a gift for continuing the learning in their homes.

As of March 14, 2025, we have used four full snow/weather days. Because students receive three “free” snow days, they now need to make up one instructional day. Please note that if the district must close school on additional dates, our plan may need to be revised. After exploring multiple options to ensure the best student learning experience, we are converting a scheduled “no-school” day into an instructional day rather than adding all missed days at the end of May. This approach will help us maintain meaningful instructional time and engagement. Our seniors’ last day will also be adjusted to meet the instructional hours set by the Nebraska Department of Education. Student Make-Up Day- April 22, 2025—Previously a no-school day, it is now a regular school day for all students and staff. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to provide our students with the highest-quality education. Due to the inclement weather, there will be no school for all students on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Wind gusts of 50+ miles per hour will continue through tomorrow morning, creating unsafe conditions for our buses and our young drivers. Please be safe, stay warm, and Go Cards!

Because of a change in schedule with the boy's district basketball final game, the Family Learning Night scheduled for Wednesday, March 5 has been postponed. We encourage you to cheer on the Cards at the high school that night. A new date and time for the Family Learning NIght will be shared soon.

The Crete Public Schools Board of Education Working meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, is canceled. The next meeting of the Board is Monday, March 10, 2025, starting at 6 PM at the Cardinal Welcome Center.

Due to a High Wind Warning for Crete, Tue, 3/4/25, is an early dismissal day. Crete Elementary dismisses at 1:15 PM; Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools at 1:30 PM: No PM Preschool, afterschool activities, or CCLC. Check the website for more details.

What's a family learning night? It's a night for caregivers and children to have fun while learning together. From math learning games to strategies for managing emotions to and tools for having more productive conversations as a family, join us March 5 for a night of activities. Plus, all families receive a free gift to continue the learning once they go home.

Due to the Extreme Cold Weather Warning set to expire at 9 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, CPS will have a late start (10 AM) on Thursday, February 20, 2025. All classes will begin at 10 a.m. There are no morning preschool classes, and all buses will run accordingly. During the warning (9 PM Wednesday to 9 AM Thursday), windchills are expected to reach -33 degrees. However, at 10 AM, windchills are expected to warm to -16 degrees. As we continue to monitor the forecast, we have decided that tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, will be a regular school day. We will continue to monitor the weather for Thursday and make a decision after we have the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. Crete Public Schools recognizes the right and responsibility of parents in the matter of school attendance. No School or Activities - Tuesday, February 18, 2025 Due to the Extreme Cold Warning issued by the National Weather Service, there will be no school or activities on Tuesday, February 18th. Wind chills are expected to reach -29°F in the morning. Be safe. Go Cards!

No School – Monday, February 17, 2025 Due to the timing of the snowstorm predicted for Monday, CPS will be closed on Monday, February 17. The forecast calls for 3-4 inches of snow beginning at 5 AM and ending between 10 AM and noon. Stay safe, stay warm, and Go Cards!
